PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSULTATION (ISSUED 17 July 2025) ON THE WITCHAM NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN – REGULATION 16 – THE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLANNING (GENERAL) REGULATIONS 2012 (AS AMENDED)

On 7 July 2025, Witcham Parish Council formally submitted its neighbourhood plan (and supporting documents) to East Cambridgeshire District Council (the district council) for independent examination, which includes a final round of public consultation. The plan sets out a vision for the future of Witcham and planning policies that will be used to determine planning applications locally (within the Witcham neighbourhood area).

In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), the district council is inviting comments on the draft Witcham Neighbourhood Plan and associated documents. The consultation period will be from 17 July to 2 September 2025.

The consultation is open to anyone to submit their representations.

The draft neighbourhood plan and accompanying submission documents are available to download from the Witcham neighbourhood plan page on our website: https://eastcambs.gov.uk/planning-and-building-control/planning-policy-and-guidance/neighbourhood-planning/neighbourhood-10

A copy of the draft neighbourhood plan is available for inspection at the district council’s customer service centre (The Grange in Ely) during normal opening times.

To make a representation on the draft Witcham Neighbourhood Plan, it should be in writing:

All comments must be received on or before Tuesday 2 September 2025.

Once the consultation period has ended, the neighbourhood plan and other supporting material, together with the representations received, will be considered by an independent examiner. Further details on the examiner and the examination process will be made available in due course. Requests to be notified of the district council’s decision under regulation 19 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012, which relates to the making of the neighbourhood plan after the examination has concluded, may be submitted via email to planningpolicy@eastcambs.gov.uk . The district council will process the information you provide in a manner that is compatible with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the district council’s Privacy Notice, available on our website at https://eastcambs.gov.uk/about-council/data-and-information/privacy-notice. Please be aware that all representations received by the authority will be made publicly available (in due course) on the district council’s website. These will be identifiable by name and, where applicable, organisation.
